The FAI Autumn Days
Two days of visits to the villa and the church of San Bartolomeo.
On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October, with the FAI Autumn Days, visitors came into the villa and the nearby church of San Bartolomeo, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The route led through the villa, a prototype of the projecting-wings type that shortly precedes Villa Farnesina in Rome: the intimate rooms, the hall with the old fireplace, the vaults, the stuccoes and grotesques so fashionable after the discovery of the Domus Aurea, and the frescoed ceilings that survive. The visit also took in the church, with its seventeenth-century single nave and sixteenth-century façade.
