Which cookies the site uses, and how to change your mind

A cookie is a small file the site leaves in your browser to remember something between one page and the next. These are the ones on voltealte.com, one by one. Updated 7 October 2026.

01The necessary cookies, which do not ask permission

They make the site work and tell no one anything about you. For these the law does not require consent.

  • vista — remembers which version of the site you see, mobile or desktop. If you choose it yourself from the footer it lasts thirty days, as does vista_scelta, which goes with it and tells the site not to change your choice; otherwise it disappears when you close the browser.
  • va_consenso — remembers what you answered in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again. Lasts six months.
  • va_id — a random identifier that goes with your answer in the consent register. Lasts six months.
  • va_utm — if you come from one of our advertisements, remembers the campaign details written in the link (name, source, medium, content and keyword) until you close the browser, to note them on the enquiry if you write to us.
  • va_pannello — the session of whoever signs in to the site’s management panel. It concerns only the people who work on it, and disappears when the browser is closed.

02The statistics cookies, only if you say yes

With your consent the site loads Google Analytics 4, which counts visits and page views, with no profile of you by name.

  • _ga and _ga_… — by Google Analytics: they tell one visitor from another with a random number. Last up to two years.

How Google uses the data is in its notice, policies.google.com/privacy.

03The marketing cookies, only if you say yes

With your consent the site loads the Meta Pixel, which lets us show the villa on Instagram and Facebook to people who have already visited the site, and know whether an enquiry from the form came from one of our advertisements.

  • _fbp — by Meta: tells browsers apart. Lasts three months.
  • _fbc — by Meta: remembers the click on an advertisement. Lasts three months.

How Meta uses the data is in its notice, www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.

04Content from other sites

The map on the contact page is by Google Maps, and the videos of the events are on YouTube or Vimeo. They do not load by themselves: they open when you tap “Show the map” or “Watch the video”, or always, if in the banner you accepted third-party content. When they open, those services set their own cookies and receive the browsing data of that page. YouTube videos go through youtube-nocookie.com, which sets no cookies until you play them; we ask Vimeo not to track.

05How to change your mind

At the foot of every page there is “Cookie preferences”: it reopens the banner and lets you choose again, category by category. Your choice lasts six months, then we ask again; if we change the text of the banner or the list of cookies, we ask you before that. You can also delete the cookies from your browser’s settings.

06Who is responsible for the data

The data controller is Ga.Vi Srl, Via San Matteo 55, 53037 San Gimignano (SI). Everything else — who sees the data, for how long, your rights — is in the privacy notice.
